According to an updated fact sheet from the Institute for Women's Policy Research (IWPR), the wage gap closed by 10 percentage points between 1981 and 1990, but closed by only four percentage points between 1991 and 2000.

Over 450 guests celebrated HAVEN’s 2011 Promenade of Hope, There is No Place Like  Home, on May 12, at Art Van Furniture in Royal Oak.

This year’s event raised almost $250,000 in net proceeds. The annual fundraiser is the largest fundraiser for the 36 year-old nonprofit; raising over 20% of HAVEN’s annual fundraising budget each year.

I always walk away feeling empowered, enlightened, energized.

Except for one thing.

Name It. Stop It.”— challenges the nation to fight this dangerous crime by learning more about it.
